Meet Boozr - a social network for people who do their socialising in person. A directory of pubs, bars and clubs worldwide combined with full social networking features that let you connect with your friends in the pubs you love like never before. It’s perfect for footie fans that want to know where everyone is watching the match; quiz teams keeping tabs on who’s coming tonight, or just about anyone who enjoys a drink with their mates.

We hope you are enjoying the features of Boozr. You can report any problem listings from within the App, or head over to our Facebook page for more help or to suggest new features that you'd like to see in a future version of the App.

All the features of a great night out.

Boozr opens with a list of pubs, bars and clubs near you - and if any of your mates are going to them, or if there's an event on tonight, you'll see that right there.

When you add a pub to your favourites list you can opt to be notified when one of your friends either checks in or says they’re planning to go.

Search by name, location or facilities. And with Boozr you can drag a map view to find pubs in any area, then filter the results by tags.

Keep in touch with your friends with a full messaging system that lets you chat one-to-one; a group or just those mates that are attending an event you’re going to.

We all have different circles of friends. The locals; our sports fans or our after-work mates. Create unlimited groups of friends to keep the chat on-topic.

View events and plans for the entire month. Boozr can optionally save a reminder in your phone’s calendar so you’ll never miss another date.

Frequently Asked Questions.

Yes - simply go to the Find Boozrs tab and press the + button in the top left. You'll be presented with a Map Search field which interrogates Apple Map's database. Start by searching by name, or if that fails try by address or postcode. Once you've found the venue you're looking for (or close to it), you can move the map position by pressing and holding the map marker and edit the name and address of the entry in the fields below the map. When you're done, simply press the Add Boozr button at the bottom of the form.

There are three ways to add your friends.
  1. If you're in the same location, open the Find Friends tab and both tap the radar icon. You should see your friend appear and one of you can tap their info to initiate the friend request.
  2. On the Find Friends tab you'll find your own unique User Code. Give that to the people you want to add you as a friend. There's also a button so you can share your user code via your phone's built-in share system to email, text and social networks.
  3. If you have a mutual friend, clicking on them in your friends list will show you their favourite pubs and their friends, and you can click on them to start a friend request. Note, all members have the option of hiding their friends list, so if you can't find them there, it's because we're respecting their privacy options.

The Boozr Verified Programme is for venues we know to actively be using Boozr, so you can be sure the listing details and any events listed are up-to-date.

The hospitality trade is notoriously volatile, and particularly in the wake of 2020, so out-of-date listings are inevitable. If you spot a venue that has now closed, you can help fellow users by reporting it. To do that, from the venue's listing, click the cog icon in the top right and select Report This Listing. You can also use this menu to report duplicate listings or spam that really shouldn't be on Boozr.

Our users are constantly improving our listings by suggesting edits. To do that, from the venue's listing, click the cog icon in the top right and select Suggest An Edit. On the screen that appears you can edit all the details including name, address, map position and the tags associated with the venue. Please note that to avoid spam, your edits won't be live immediately, but will be checked as soon as possible.

When you check in somewhere or add a plan to go to a venue, only your friends will be able to see that activity. Additionally, if you say you're attending a circle event, only members of that circle will see that plan. By default your friends will be able to see your friends list and favourite Boozrs, but if you'd rather keep that private you can turn it off from your profile page.

Your privacy is very important. Your location data is never saved to our server, only used to compare with the location of the nearest pubs. When you check-in we automatically delete that check-in four hours later. Events and all data associated with who's going are deleted the day after they happened. We only keep data for as long as it is needed to provide functionality in the App. We will never sell your private data to other businesses.

Yes, for a one off payment less than the price of half a pint you can turn off the ads permanently. Just go into My Profile and select Upgrade Your Account - Boozr Ad Free will be the first option.

There are two ways of adding an event - first by going to the detail page of the venue you want to hold the event and pressing the cog icon in the top right, or by going into one of your circles of friends pages and pressing the calendar plus icon above the member list. Please note that unless you have a Boozr Business subscription your event will only be visible to your circle of friends. If you need to add public events, take a look at the details on boozr.biz

You'll get a notification from Boozr when you receive a new message or friend request. You'll also get a notification when a friend checks in or plans to go to a pub that you've set as a favourite, but only if when you added that venue to your favourites list you said you wanted to receive notifications. You can turn on or off notifications for a specific venue on the Boozr detail page. Please note, notifications will only work if you accepted them when first installing the App - if you need to enable them at a later date, you'll need to go into the privacy settings on your smartphone.

Microsoft services, including @hotmail, @live.com, @msn.com and @outlook.com currently block the emails we send you. This is apparently because Microsoft block any new mailserver by default, and Boozr has only been on its current servers (and IP address) since 2021. You'd think this was a smart move to stop spam, but actually as mail servers move all the time through upgrades and host changes, it means if you're on MS for email there's a good chance MS are blocking a lot of legitimate incoming emails before you get a chance to make that decision for yourself. We recommend you use a real host for email; and if you fancy a free service, gmail isn't bad.

In Boozr v1.2 we added the ability to skip registration and just browse venue listings. This gives you a feel for part of Boozr without committing to sign-up, but all of Boozr's social network features will be disabled and you won't be able to add pubs to your favourites list or check in. We hope the little taste of Boozr will be enough to want to unlock the full set of features. They're free, and it only takes a minute.
